Privacy policy

This policy covers hammerhead.splitlight.site, run by Hammerhead Digital Media (“Hammerhead”, “we”). It explains what personal data the site handles, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

    Enquiries

    When you send the Let’s Chat form we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and your message. We use them only to reply to you and follow up on your enquiry.

    While the site is in development, enquiries are recorded in our hosting provider’s server logs rather than delivered to a mailbox. Those logs are deleted automatically. We never keep an enquiry for longer than 24 months.

    Editor sign-in

    The /admin area is for the Hammerhead team only. Editors sign in with Google, through our authentication provider Clerk. Google shares the editor’s name, email address and profile picture. We use them only to check the editor is on our list of approved accounts and to show who is signed in.

    We do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts or any other Google data. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

    Cookies

    Public pages set no tracking or advertising cookies, and we don’t run analytics. The /admin area uses essential cookies set by Clerk to keep editors signed in.

    Who processes data for us

    • Vercel hosts the website and records server logs.
    • Clerk handles editor sign-in.
    • Convex stores the site’s content.
    • Google confirms an editor’s identity when they sign in.

    Some of these providers store data in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the providers’ standard data protection terms, including standard contractual clauses.

    Your rights

    Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
